Britney Spears probably doesn't know what standard tuning is, let alone what Drop D is.

I don't listen to as much Tool as I would like to listen to. I only own their 10,000 Days album, which, I haven't really listened to. Soundgarden, on the other hand, I absolutely love. Chris Cornell isn't a good vocalist, he's freakin' amazing! I can't believe his voice in Beyond The Wheel and in Slaves and Bulldozers. :O You're right about their riffs though, they are a lot of fun to play. I know how to play Outshined, Jesus Christ Pose, Room A Thousand Years Wide, Holy Water, Black Hole Sun, Nothing To Say, Beyond The Wheel, basically all the Drop D riffs, and the ones that came with the music book. ;) I've been meaning to learn some more, though.

Ohh, favorite albums... gosh. Facelift by Alice in Chains. Badmotorfinger by Soundgarden. Bleach by Nirvana. Temple of the Dog, of course, and Above by Mad Season. Led Zeppelin I through IV. Back in Black by AC/DC. All of Blind Guardians albums with the exception of Battalions of Fear (don't like it much).

As for other interests... well besides music and guitar... I like writing, the paranormal and related stuff. Everything in my "interests" thing on my page. ;)

Haha, I completely agree...besides, Britney Spears just doesn't hold a candle to all that is Tool. And she probably doesn't know about drop D tuning.

I'd say my favorite bands are Tool, Soundgarden, and the Wailin' Jennys (folk/roots group) in no particular order. Tool because it's metal that makes you think...and I could listen to it and always find something new in there. Which is a reason I like Chanticleer (a choral group), because they ALWAYS hide something in their music. Chris Cornell is a good vocalist, and I love Kim Thayil's guitar solos. I don't know what it is about Soundgarden's music but I love their riffs (I bought a Superunknown guitar book not that long ago...it's really, really fun, not that hard either!). And I love the Wailin' Jennys because I can't resist three part harmony with acoustic instruments (like mandolins and such). I can't pick a favorite band, I like too many things.

What are your favorite albums? What other interests do you have? :)

Still, I'm shamelessly attracted to you and your wonderful musical interests. :blushes:

Then again, it's easy when ninety percent of the female population listens to rap and / or sappy pop love songs.

I like my distorted power chords damn it.

Yeah, Alice is my favorite. What about yourself? Hell, what's your favorite band, period?

And yes, falling in love with random people on the interweb is about as reckless as driving a hundred miles an hour through a child's playground. Well. Yeah. :P
~osaku211:iconosaku211: Mar 5, 2007, 5:22:32 PM
In love! Well don't be so hasty ;) (oh wait, you said it was reckless yourself).

Good luck with the jam session! So is Alice in Chains your favorite of the grunge bands?
~Etcetera87:iconEtcetera87: Mar 4, 2007, 12:39:58 AM
I just realized now, after all this time, that you like Grunge, and you play guitar! I think I'm in love. Well no, I'm not in love (that would be reckless), but it's real nice to see I'm not the only one who enjoys that era of music.

I'm going to be playing Man in the Box with a band on Sunday next week, at a jam session being held by my teacher. I hope I don't fuck the solo up too bad, LOL. And maybe I'll meet someone who will actually want to start a band with me, or at least let me play guitar in their band. :P

Yeah school can be boring :P and thanks for the favorite!!! :)
